Hospital Acquired Conditions


Purpose: To provide a basic understanding of Hospital Acquired Conditions (HACs) and how nutrition plays a role in managing them.

Objectives: By the end of this training module, participants should be able to:

  • Name 3 hospital acquired conditions impacted by nutrition.

  • State the role of specific nutrients in the management of UTIs.

  • State the role of specific nutrients in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers.

  • State the role of nutrition in improving glycemic control in the healthcare setting.
